The award ceremony Echo, Europe's most important music award, marks one of the highlights in the year of music. The Echo 2009 took place at the O2-World in Berlin on the 21st of February. In the three-and-a-half hour show hosted by Barbara Schöneberger and Oliver Pocher extraordinary musical acts, for instance by Amy MacDonald, Silbermond and Depeche Mode, caused a sensation.
Since 2003, Stage Kinetik has been providing the motion technology for the stage. Even in 2009, Stage Kinetik contributed to a perfect show once again.
In the show among other things a pop up microphone for all awardees and laudators, several LED walls wheeled horizontally and vertically for the performance by U2 ("Get on your boots"), an EHB tracking system for horizontal driving of the two "flying" screen frames (15 x 10 meters), a lifting platform for the performance by Udo Lindenberg ("Woody Woody Wodka") and several VarioLift chain hoists for the ceiling's light trusses were used.
