Drake Boy meets World Tour Australia/New Zealand

by Stage Kinetik

After the sensational Boy meets World Tour through Europe, Drake visited Australia and New Zealand as part of his tour in November 2017.

In cooperation with Glow Motion Technologies, the winch technology of Stage Kinetik was also used for the hall and stage design to create extraordinary moods and designs using different shapes and color changes.

1000 WinchOne winch systems

In a total of 9 shows held from 03 November 2017 to 20 November 2017, 1000 WinchOne winch systems were used to realize the unique design.

The winches used had a load capacity of 1 kilogram and could be moved at a speed of up to 1.2m/sec This system enables the programming of groups or individual spheres and it can thus always be adapted to the requirements and the design.

Grand Sapin - Galerie Lafayette

by Stage Kinetik

Under the management of En Attendant Éclairage & Décors Sarl Frédéric Godeau, the Christmas decoration of the famous Lafayette department store in Paris was realized this winter using Stage Kinetik technology.

2-ton Christmas tree, turning 2 months, 24 hours a day

A Christmas tree that weighed 2 tons and was several stories high was placed in the middle of the large shopping center on the Boulevard Haussmann in Paris and turned with a specific suspension being mounted to the ceiling. Using this technology, the tree was turned 24 hours a day for 2 months without interruption, so that it could be presented to the shoppers from all sides.

188 WinchOne winch systems

In addition, many small “gifts” were released from the ceiling, dancing in a choreography several times per hour until the department store had been closed. 188 WinchOne winches with a load capacity of 1 kilogram and a speed of 1.2m/sec were divided into 3 circles and were equipped with various Christmas decoration elements. Every single winch could be programmed individually or as a group in order to give the entire scene a visual Christmas background.

New Metro in Düsseldorf

by Stage Kinetik

In September 2017, METRO AG hosted an event on the occasion of its rebranding and new naming in exhibition hall 8b in Düsseldorf. For this purpose, Stage Kinetik GmbH was commissioned to build a winch system with 192 WinchOne winches in a grid of 16x12 winches. The distance between the winches was supposed to be 2 meters.

New cylindrical body with a diameter of 400 millimeters

However, the lighting unit used here should not be a sphere, as was already often the case, but a cylindrical body with a diameter of 400 millimeters and a height of 400 millimeters. Here, the challenge was to attach the components for the wireless DMX board from Glow Motion Technologies including battery and LED to the wire frame, which was covered with a non-combustible paper screen. The light cylinders should not weigh more than 1 kilogram. After a short planning period, this system was implemented specifically.

Expo 2017 Astana

by Stage Kinetik

The world exhibition EXPO 2017 was held in Astana/Kazakhstan from 10 June to 10 September 2017. A large opening show took place in the newly built Congress Center.

Under the slogan

Future Energy: Action for Global Sustainability

this show was staged spectacularly with the help of Stage Kinetik technology.

3 artist flying systems and 3 carbon tube systems

For this purpose, 2 flying systems on spiral-shaped tracking systems were installed in the hall ceiling to let artists dressed up as astronauts float through the arena. In addition, 3 carbon tube systems with a width of 9 meters were equipped with laserscrims on site to install 3 artist flying systems behind these laserscrims. Hanging on these flying systems, the artists presented various show performances.

300 WinchOne winch systems

A total of 300 WinchOne winch systems from Stage Kinetik were programmed in a variety of shapes to create an atmospheric stage setting, which was then set in color in cooperation with Glow Motion Technologies. Thus, these spheres could be programmed as to “float” as a group or individually according to the requirements in order to present a wide variety of stage sets. The winches had a load capacity of 1 kilogram and could be moved at a speed of 1.2 m/sec.

LEA Award 2017

by Stage Kinetik

The Live Entertainment Award (LEA) was presented at Musikmesse Frankfurt in 2017 as well. The event took place in the venerable Festhalle Frankfurt. In addition to a large number of moving trusses, which were moved using Movecat chain hoists of the VMK-S 500 type, other kinetic elements were used as well.

WinchOne system with 169 illuminated spheres and motion detection

The highlight of the awarding ceremony were 169 illuminated spheres that were suspended from a WinchOne system. Using motion detection, the system ensured that an artist could move underneath the spheres and that these spheres could be lifted in this area. The 40-centimeter spheres were arranged at a distance of 1x1 meters from each other and weighed 1600 kilograms together with the winches and the framework.

Two-piece LED wall and vertical rotation

In addition, a two-part LED wall with a weight of more than 1500 kilograms, a width of 7 meters and a height of 4 meters was moved along a 26 meter long EHB track. Both halves of the wall could be moved independently and rotated around a vertical axis. The traverse including track had a weight of 1000 kilograms.
