Meeting of established stars and newcomers
The Echo is not only considered as Europe's most important music award, as it is awarded on the basis of CD sales and the verdict of the jury from Deutsche Phono-Akademie (German phono academy). Furthermore, it also steadfastly braves its American counterpart, the Grammys, for decades. Each year, both established stars and newcomers gather in Berlin to honor old stars and current mainstream artists.
The Echo 2010 was held in the Berlin Palais am Funkturm on the 4th of March. The gala was presented by "Sportschau" journalist Matthias Opdenhövel and WDR radio presenter Sabine Heinrich. In the course of the appealing three-and-a-half hour show, stars such as Robbie Williams, Jan Delay, Peter Maffay and Rihanna gave sensational performances.
Special construction: triangular roll riser (8.50 x 4.50 meters)
Stage Kinetik additionally supplied kinetic elements for a perfect stage show. A triangular special construction of a roll riser was used to put the music show acts in the focus of the audience and to move them back to the backstage area, without the need to leave their stage positions. The special construction was 8.50 meters in width and 4.50 meters in depth.
Lifting platform as show act area in the midst of the audience
A lifting platform, located in the midst of the audience, was used as show act area as well. It was 5.50 meters wide and it was possible to lift it up to a height of 4 meters. Several show acts such as Xavier Naidoo performed on it. A 12 meter wide roll-screen was also used, which opened the stage background for the roller platform. Just as with almost any other event, we also provided our telescopic microphone which can be sunk into the floor and individually adjusted to the user's height.
