Germany’s Next Topmodel Finale 2015

On the 14th of May 2015, the great final of the 10th season of Germany’s Next Topmodel took place in the SAP Arena in Mannheim. The show started with a stunning opening. Regrettably, it had to be canceled due to a bomb threat so that not all of our technical refinements could be seen. Fortunately, the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax. Nevertheless, it was a shock for all those involved.

Flying platform for Heidi Klum and curved trusses on chain hoists

The show was opened with Heidi Klum standing on a flying platform, which was hung on chain hoists and covered with a fabric, while floating on it from the ceiling to the stage. The upper fabric attachments could be released using a KABUKI system so that the platform with the presenter on it was disclosed during the flight.

Concentric curved trusses were attached to the ceiling around the flying platform. The trusses were hooked on DGUV V17 Movecat chain hoists as per SIL3 and could be moved individually. A total of 25 chain hoists was attached to 5 curved trusses, whereas a total weight of 9500 kilograms was applied to the hall ceiling.
